How Cycle-Jobs measures transparency in the cycling industry
We built Cycle-Jobs around one principle: candidates and teams deserve a modern, transparent and fair job market. This methodology explains how we collect and standardise job data, build employer insights, and calculate the Transparency Score.
1. Introduction
Cycle-Jobs is an independent, data-driven platform supporting the cycling industry with transparent job information, global salary signals, structured employer insights and modern candidate tools.
How job data is collected, processed, standardised and transformed into: Employer Snapshots, Transparency Score, and Before You Apply insights.
2. Data sources & collection
We aggregate public and partner data from:
- Brand career pages
- LinkedIn job feeds
- Industry job boards
- ATS systems (Greenhouse, Workday, Personio…)
- Direct employer submissions
Normalisation includes:
- Title cleaning
- Seniority detection
- Role categorisation
- Location standardisation
- Salary extraction or estimation
3. Job data processing & standardisation
3.1 Title normalisation
We convert titles into structured formats using AI-assisted role extraction, seniority detection and multilingual cleanup.
3.2 Category mapping
Every job is mapped into CJ’s global role taxonomy:
- Product, Design, Marketing
- Customer service, Retail
- Engineering, Operations
- HR, Finance
- Leadership
3.3 Salary model
When salary is missing, we estimate compensation using the CJ Salary Model:
- Role seniority
- Country cost index
- Job family
- Industry benchmarks
